More and more the North Carolina Community College System is communicating with maps. The map above shows all the counties that will have a BPI Building Analyst 1 certified weatherization instructor by the end of October 2009. There has been a lot of funding dedicated to weatherizing homes of lower income individuals from the Federal Recovery Act Funds. Community Colleges will be providing a lot of this training to contractors who will be working for local Community Action Agencies. In Haywood County alone, over $500,000 was provided to people in need to heat their homes last winter. Weatherization will greatly eliminate this need.I was thinking how so much more information could be included in this map .... like number of homes to be weatherized in each county, fuel assistance costs during winter of 2008-2009 etc.
