This is version 0.001. I still have annotation to do and I would like to do some insets with luxury of space on the larger format. Maybe bicycle safety or something. I was hoping to find some geospatial related safety data, but was only able to locate fatality charts based by county. Would be nice to rate roads on more than just traffic density, but actual safety.
I think this map looks good, the legend takes over a little. Maybe putting it into two columns would take it down a notch. Your map doesn't look like a Christmas tree...
ReplyDeleteI like the way you made the out lying area a lighter color and used it to display your title and North area etc. Looks like a nice reserved suit of clothes. It is so hard to comment on these things.

ReplyDeleteI think you should play with a horizontal legend, the vertical one tends to dominate a bit. GREAT idea with the medical assistance, bridges, etc. I need that data!
ReplyDeleteMy inset is going to be a downtown inset and the CAD looking data is actually just building footprint polygons trimmed to the "central business district" of Asheville (aka downtown).
Holy Moley, Batman! You are quite accomplished technically and theoretically. Very nice map.
